Why Football Is So Popular In America

Since the 1990s, the sport of football has been increasing in popularity in America. Though baseball is considered the national pastime, more people consider themselves football fans than baseball fans. There are several reasons for this.

One reason is that each team’s college and NFL football games are played once a week, and mostly on the weekends. It is much easier for a fan to watch all of his team’s games and clear space in his schedule to attend a football game and or watch one on TV when there is only one game per week per team.

The Top Five Ultimate Game-Making Plays Of History

Let’s take a look at the top five game-making plays in the history of football.

5. Scott Norwood misses a field goal wide right. The field goal would have given the Buffalo Bills the victory over the New York Giants in the Super Bowl. The Bills made it to four straight Super Bowls and lost them all.

4. Dwight Clark catches a touchdown for the San Fransisco 49′ers to give them a win over the Dallas Cowboys and Super Bowl Birth. The pass was thrown by Hall of Fame Quarterback Joe Montana.
